Texploration Profiles: Nicholas Seawater

Breaking Boundaries in XR: A Dive into Nicholas Seawater’s Creative World

DC: Welcome to another episode of Texploration Profiles. Today, we have a highly inventive freelance app developer with us – Nicholas Seawater. Nicholas, it’s a pleasure to have you on the show!

Nicholas Seawater: Thank you! It’s great to be here.

DC: Let’s dive right in. Can you tell our listeners a bit about your journey? How did your experiences in your father’s lumber mill contribute to your app development journey?

Nicholas Seawater: Growing up around the mill, I learned the importance of safety, integrity, and a strong work ethic. This playground of endless possibilities allowed me to creatively problem-solve from a young age. These values have carried over into my app development endeavors, ensuring my creations are reliable and trustworthy.

DC: That’s a unique blend of experiences! Your company has been a pioneer in providing XR solutions and recently developed a podcast streaming app for the Apple Watch. Can you share more about this venture?

Nicholas Seawater: Absolutely! Our podcast streaming app is designed to provide a seamless experience for Apple Watch users, allowing them to listen to podcasts directly through the watch’s built-in speaker. It’s one of the innovative ways we’re striving to enhance user experiences through technology.

DC: Shifting gears a bit, you’ve launched a groundbreaking app called “AR & VR Viewer,” which has a unique feature allowing users to attach a video to their physical business card without a QR code. Can you delve into that?

Nicholas Seawater: Yes, the AR & VR Viewer employs Optical Character Recognition technology instead of typical QR codes. This real-time text scanner detects text already present on a business card, initiating the card’s XR experience. It’s a step towards blending the physical and digital worlds in a user-friendly way.

DC: The fusion of OCR technology with XR apps seems like an area ripe for innovation. However, every innovation comes with its set of challenges. What are some hurdles you’ve faced, especially in gaining visibility in a crowded market?

Nicholas Seawater: That’s a great point. Gaining visibility is indeed a significant challenge given the app’s novelty. We encourage users to try out the app, experience its unique business card XR feature, and share it with others. Also, user reviews on the App Store are invaluable as they help enhance our standing and provide feedback for refinement. The Android version is available now but currently supports viewing the XR cards only. Creating XR cards on Android will be coming soon. Note: the website is arvrviewer.com The app can be found by searching “AR & VR Viewer” on the App Store

DC: It seems like there’s a call to action for our listeners to engage with your app and help propel it to greater heights. Nicholas, it’s been fantastic having you on the show. Your journey from a lumber mill to the cutting edge of XR technology is truly inspiring.

Nicholas Seawater: Thank you! It’s been a pleasure sharing my story.
